Client Profile:
Our client is the largest specialist Third Party Pensions Administrator in the UK, with major clients in both the private and public sector.
 
Vacancy Description:
  • The key objective for the post holder is to manage the team responsible for the administration of the Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS) contract. The successful candidate will be required to deliver a first class service to the Pension Protection Fund (PPF) who is responsible for the FAS, FASOU, the members, the ceding Trustees and their advisers, whilst meeting the challenges that this demanding, high profile contract presents.
 
Essential Skills:
  • Managing the FAS Administration Team, maximising efficiency and controlling costs through effective resource management and business process improvements.
  • Developing a thorough working knowledge of the FAS benefit structure and associated regulations, with the ability to demonstrate a detailed understanding of the systems, interfaces, time constraints and third parties involved.
  • Interacting with the PPF, FASOU, the ceding Trustees and their advisers to ensure transition deadlines are met and service solutions implemented to facilitate continuous improvement.
  • To actively participate in the development of all staff to support their efforts to reach their full potential and consider adequate succession planning initiatives.
  • Organising the daily workflow of cases on the team and consider the pipeline workload; maintaining a flexible approach to resource management in order to determine priorities and react to changing external demands.
  • Maintaining an awareness of the pipeline of schemes and members scheduled for transfer into the FAS; liaising with senior managers to consider the impact of volatile membership levels on workloads and resources; playing a leading role in the proposed transition to a front office / back office service model.
  • To ensure ISO compliance on the team and observe the IIP standards of the business.
  • To be “hands on” and work as part of the team, whilst taking responsibility for ensuring the highest standard of service is delivered to members and the client by reference to relevant performance indicators.
  • To work positively with other managers to address business issues and improvements   
Essential Experience/Skills
• Managerial background
• An understanding of PPF and FAS and associated working practices
• The ability to represent the firm at client level on scheme specific and performance related matters

• A proven manager with excellent organisational and people skills
• A genuine desire to progress towards a position of increased managerial responsibility and the ability to cope with the increased
